Why patients choose us

Seen this week, not in two months.

For most ear, nose and throat problems, you don't need a hospital consultant — you need someone who can examine you carefully today, tell you what's going on, and treat it if it's treatable. That's what we do.

Vs. NHS ENT

No 8-week referral wait.

NHS ENT referrals in London routinely wait 6–12 weeks for a first appointment — longer for non-urgent issues. We see you this week, often same day. Worth it when an ear infection is getting worse, your sinusitis is on week three, or your hoarseness has lasted a month.

Vs. Harley Street ENT

The same care, a fraction of the cost.

Harley Street ENT consultations are typically two to three times our rate for a first appointment. For most common ENT problems, a thorough GPwSI examination delivers the same answer at a fraction of the cost. We'll refer you on to a consultant if you genuinely need one — honestly, not as an upsell.

Vs. walk-in audiology chains

A doctor, not a sales counter.

Walk-in audiology and ear-wax-removal chains are limited to what their technicians can do. Dr Gupta is a GMC-registered doctor: he can prescribe, diagnose underlying conditions, manage chronic infections and refer for hearing tests — not just clean your ears and sell you a hearing aid.

Vs. anywhere

Self-refer, all ages.

No GP letter required. Book online or call. We see adults, teenagers and children with ENT problems — for very young children or anything that may need urgent specialist surgery, we'll tell you straight and direct you to a paediatric ENT consultant.

What we treat

Common ENT problems, expertly handled.

If your problem is on this page, we can almost certainly help. If it's not, we may still be able to — or we'll point you to a specialist who can. We don't waste your time guessing.

Honest about scope

A GP with Special Interest in ENT (GPwSI) is not the same as a hospital ENT consultant. We don't perform tonsillectomy, septoplasty, grommets, sinus surgery, head & neck cancer surgery, or formal audiology testing. What we do is provide expert first-line assessment, treat the majority of common ENT problems, and refer you onward to the right specialist quickly when surgery or further specialist workup is needed.

For very young children (under 4) with serious or persistent ENT problems, we recommend going directly to a paediatric ENT consultant. We'll tell you that at your appointment if relevant — no charge for that recommendation.

Transparent pricing

All fees on our price list.

Full pricing for all consultations, procedures and reports is published on our price list. We do not charge separate appointment fees on top of quoted prices, and all costs are confirmed before any test, procedure or report is started.

How it works

Book, examine, treated. One visit.

For most ENT problems, the assessment, diagnosis and treatment happen in the same appointment. For complex cases we'll plan the next steps with you before you leave.

  1. 01

    Book online or call

Choose ENT consultation, consultation + procedure, or specialist workup. If you're not sure which, choose consultation and we'll upgrade if needed at the appointment.

  2. 02

    History & examination

Dr Gupta takes a focused history, examines ears (otoscopy), nose (rhinoscopy) and throat as relevant. Identifies the problem and discusses what's likely going on.

  3. 03

    Treatment same visit

Where possible, treated in clinic: microsuction, Epley manoeuvre, foreign body removal, or prescription for medication. Written treatment plan provided.

  4. 04

    Onward care if needed

If audiology, imaging, or specialist ENT consultant input is needed, we organise the referral — with letters, contacts and clear next steps. Follow-up by phone or in clinic available.

Common questions

Before you book.

What's the difference between a GPwSI in ENT and a hospital ENT consultant?

A GP with Special Interest in ENT (GPwSI) is a GMC-registered doctor who has additional training and clinical focus in Ear, Nose & Throat conditions. We diagnose and manage the majority of common ENT problems — infections, sinusitis, hearing concerns, hoarseness, allergic rhinitis — the kind of issues that make up about 90% of ENT clinic visits. We don't perform surgery. If you need a tonsillectomy, septoplasty, grommets, sinus surgery, or any other ENT operation, you need a hospital ENT consultant — and we'll refer you to one. The advantage of seeing us first is speed (this week, not in two months) and significantly lower cost than premium Harley Street.

Do you offer microsuction for ear wax?

Yes — this is one of our most common appointments. Microsuction is the safer, gentler alternative to ear syringing or wax-softening drops alone. Includes a brief otoscopy first to confirm the eardrum is healthy and microsuction is appropriate. Same-day appointments usually available. Most patients are in and out in 15 minutes with normal hearing restored.

Do you do hearing tests?

No, not on site. Formal hearing tests (pure-tone audiometry, tympanometry) need specialist equipment and a trained audiologist. What we do is clinically assess hearing, examine the ear thoroughly, identify likely causes of any hearing change, treat what's treatable in clinic (e.g. wax, infection), and refer you to a qualified audiologist if formal testing is needed. We'll be upfront about this at booking so there are no surprises.

Can you see my child for ENT problems?

Yes — we see children of all ages with ENT concerns. Dr Gupta is comfortable examining children and adjusts his approach for the child's age. For very young children (under 4) with serious or persistent issues — suspected glue ear needing grommets, large adenoids causing breathing problems, suspected hearing loss — we'll usually recommend going directly to a paediatric ENT consultant. We'll tell you that at the appointment honestly. For common childhood ear infections, sore throats, or simple ear wax, we can usually help directly.

How quickly can I be seen?

Same-day appointments are usually available. Call us in the morning and you'll often be seen that afternoon. Book online for next-day availability. The clinic is open 9am–7pm seven days a week, so evening and weekend appointments are routine.

Will you prescribe antibiotics if I need them?

If a bacterial infection is clearly present and antibiotics are clinically appropriate, yes — Dr Gupta is a GMC-registered doctor and can issue private treatments. We follow standard antibiotic stewardship principles: we don't prescribe antibiotics for viral infections (which is most sore throats and many ear problems), because doing so causes harm without benefit. If antibiotics aren't the right answer, we'll explain why and treat the actual cause.

I think I have sinusitis — what will you do?

Take a careful history (duration, symptoms, previous episodes), examine the nose and throat, look for the underlying cause (often allergic rhinitis, sometimes deviated septum or nasal polyps), and start treatment. Most acute sinusitis is viral and resolves with conservative management. Chronic sinusitis often needs nasal steroid sprays, allergy management, and sometimes a CT sinus scan or ENT consultant referral. We'll give you the right plan, not just antibiotics by default.

What if I have a lump in my neck I'm worried about?

Get seen quickly. A new persistent neck lump (over 2 weeks, especially in adults) should always be assessed promptly. Dr Gupta will examine the neck, classify what you're feeling, arrange an ultrasound scan the same week if useful, and refer urgently to ENT or head & neck specialists if needed. Most neck lumps turn out to be benign (lymph nodes, salivary gland issues, thyroid nodules) — but getting it checked promptly is the right thing to do.

Does insurance cover ENT consultations?

Yes — Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna and WPA all typically cover ENT consultations when clinically indicated. Some insurers prefer to see a GP referral letter first, even for a GPwSI; check your policy. Microsuction for ear wax is sometimes considered routine and not covered — it's worth confirming with your insurer before booking if cost matters.
