Care that doesn’t stop at the clinic door.
Some of the best things we do happen outside an appointment room — workshops, family support, signposting to local services. This page tells you what’s on offer and how to get involved.
ADHD and autism — workshops we run.
Getting a diagnosis is one thing. Living with ADHD or autism — for you, your child, or your whole family — is another. We run periodic workshops led by our clinical team and our Family Support Adviser to help fill the gap between “here’s your diagnosis” and “here’s how to make life work.”
Living with adult ADHD
Practical strategies, executive-function tools, medication conversations, work and relationships. Led by our psychiatry team with the Family Support Adviser. Open to patients, family members and partners.
Parenting a child with ADHD or autism
For parents and carers. School support, EHCP navigation, behaviour strategies, sleep, sibling impact, sensory needs. Led by our family support adviser with paediatric and psychology input.
Late-diagnosis support
For adults diagnosed with ADHD or autism later in life. Sense-making, identity, processing the past, planning what comes next. Smaller, more reflective sessions.
Teen group — navigating school with ADHD/autism
Planned series for ages 13–17. Peer-led discussion with clinical and family-support adult support. Topics include school, exams, friendships, sleep, screens, identity.
Honest framing. We have run several workshops to date and continue to run new sessions periodically as demand and our clinical capacity allow. Sessions are usually free for our patients and a small fee for non-patients. Sign up below to be notified when new dates are announced.
Our Family Support Adviser.
We have employed a dedicated Family Support Adviser to sit alongside our clinical team — someone whose whole job is helping families navigate everything that surrounds the clinical work. Most clinics don’t have this. We think it’s essential.
What the Family Support Adviser does
- Translates the system. Helps families understand referrals, NHS pathways, Local Authority services, and what their rights and options are.
- School support. Guidance on requesting a school assessment, applying for an EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan), and working with SENCOs.
- Signposting. Connects families to local groups, peer-support networks, social care, and trusted national charities.
- Workshops. Co-runs our family workshops and follow-up clinics.
- A listening ear. Sometimes families just need someone outside the family who isn’t a doctor — to talk things through.
To request a conversation with our Family Support Adviser, ask reception, message us on WhatsApp, or email familysupport@mhwclinic.co.uk. Available to existing patients and families considering joining the clinic.
Important. Our Family Support Adviser provides practical, non-clinical support and signposting. They do not provide therapy, counselling or medical advice — for those we’ll always refer you to our clinical team.
Get notified when new workshops are scheduled.
We send notifications once a workshop is confirmed — usually 3–4 weeks ahead. We will not spam you. No marketing emails.
Where else to look.
We are part of a wider ecosystem of NHS, charity and Local Authority services. These are the organisations we routinely signpost patients to.
