About Elif Zeynep

Parenting, evidence-based.

Elif holds both a BA and an MA in Early Childhood Education from Boğaziçi University in Turkey, graduating with first-class honours at both levels. Her work bridges research and real-life impact — she began her career as a research assistant in academia for three years before moving into applied work with children, teachers and parents.

She has contributed to academic publications, taken part in media discussions on child development, and spent two years teaching in London — giving her direct insight into the educational, cultural and family-dynamic challenges faced by parents in a multicultural city. She is also the founder of Turkey’s first Digital Quotation Association, with a specialist focus on children’s screen use and identity development in digital environments.

Her role at My Health & Wellbeing Clinic is to provide structured, evidence-based parenting support — the kind of guidance that doesn’t fit into a 10-minute GP consultation but that many parents need. Sessions help parents respond confidently to challenges around behaviour, communication, emotional wellbeing, screen use, and the parent-child relationship more broadly. She speaks English and Turkish.

Elif is not a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist; she does not diagnose, prescribe or provide therapy for clinical mental health conditions. Where a child or family needs that level of input, she works alongside our psychology and paediatrics teams to make sure the right pathway is in place.

What Elif Zeynep helps with

Parent support focus.

The everyday parenting challenges that benefit from structured, evidence-based support — not clinical therapy, but practical guidance grounded in early-childhood education research.

Parent–child relationship

Strengthening the relationship between parent and child across age stages — from toddler years through to early adolescence. Communication, attachment, boundaries, and the everyday interactions that shape how children develop.

Behaviour & communication

Everyday behaviour challenges — tantrums, defiance, sibling conflict, school-related difficulties. Communication strategies that work, rooted in child-development research rather than internet advice.

Screen time & digital identity

Elif’s specialist research area. Practical, age-appropriate guidance on screen use, digital safety, social media and gaming — and how to support children developing a healthy identity in digital environments.

Emotional wellbeing

Helping children develop emotional regulation, resilience and self-awareness. Recognising when everyday struggles need parenting support and when they need referral to our psychology team for clinical input.

School & learning challenges

Supporting parents whose children are struggling at school — with attention, motivation, peer relationships, or the transition between school stages. Working alongside SENCOs and school teams where helpful.

Bilingual & bicultural families

Specific support for families raising children across two languages and cultures — particularly Turkish-English households. Identity, language acquisition, the everyday dynamics of bicultural parenting.

Where parent support fits

Working alongside the team.

Parent support sits alongside our clinical services for children and families. Where a child or family needs clinical input, Elif works with our paediatrics, psychology and psychiatry teams to make sure the right care is in place.

If you’re booking

What to expect.

Initial consultation

A 60-minute first session to understand what you’re bringing — the specific challenges you’re facing as a parent, your child’s age and stage, family context, and what you’re hoping to take away. Sessions can be in English or Turkish.

Follow-up sessions

Subsequent sessions are typically 50 minutes. The number of sessions varies — some parents want a single conversation with an expert to think things through; others find ongoing structured support helpful over several months.

Scope & boundaries

Parent support is evidence-based, practical guidance. It is not therapy, psychological assessment, or clinical mental health care. Where a child needs assessment for ADHD, autism, anxiety or depression, Elif refers within the clinic to our paediatrics or psychology team.

For whom

Sessions are for parents and carers of children from infancy through to early adolescence. Both parents are welcome to attend; sessions can also be one parent alone, or include older children where it fits the work. Self-pay; not currently covered by private medical insurance.
