Dr Fahim Chowdhury is a GP at My Health & Wellbeing Clinic and one of the doctors most patients see for routine, same-day and chronic-disease appointments. His clinical interests include long-term condition management, men's health, and mental health support. He speaks English and Bengali (Bangla).
Dr Chowdhury trained as a doctor in the UK, completing an additional BSc qualification alongside his medical degree before going on to membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. He has worked across NHS and private general practice, and brings a generalist's range to the clinic.
He sees patients of all ages, with a particular interest in chronic disease management — hypertension, type 2 diabetes, asthma, raised cholesterol, heart disease risk reduction — alongside men's health and mental health support. The aim is structured care, not just a 10-minute consultation and a prescription.
Dr Chowdhury speaks English and Bengali. A meaningful share of our Bengali-speaking patient base in East London sees him for both acute concerns and ongoing care, often with family-led pathways across generations.
The range of work this clinician does at the clinic. Some appointments are routine; some sit at the boundary of where a specialist referral is needed, and we'll say so.
Acute infections, rashes, urinary symptoms, abdominal pain, respiratory illness, headaches. The bread-and-butter GP consultations, with proper time taken to assess and decide what's needed next.
Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, asthma, raised cholesterol, ischaemic heart disease risk. Diagnostic review, treatment titration, structured monitoring, and where appropriate shared-care with your NHS GP.
Structured health checks, blood panels (FBC, U&E, LFTs, HbA1c, lipids, thyroid, vitamin D), blood pressure assessment, BMI, cardiovascular risk scoring (QRISK), and a follow-up to discuss the findings.
Erectile dysfunction assessment, prostate symptoms, testosterone evaluation, general male health screening. Many men find it easier to raise these concerns with a male GP who'll listen properly.
Anxiety, low mood, sleep, stress, work-related concerns. GP-level support, talking therapy referrals where appropriate, and discussion of medication options where indicated. Onward referral to our consultant psychiatrist or psychology team when the need is more complex.
Wound care, minor burns, simple sprains, ear infections, sinusitis, conjunctivitis, chest infections. Same-day care for the things that don't need an A&E visit but can't wait two weeks for an NHS GP slot.
Services Dr Fahim regularly delivers. Each links to a dedicated page with scope, what's included, and how to book.
Most consultations are 30–45 minutes for an initial assessment, shorter for follow-ups. You’ll be seen in a single appointment, with bloods, ECG or other tests (if needed) usually done on the same visit.
Results from on-site tests are typically back within 24–48 hours via TDL (our laboratory partner). Follow-up consultations are scheduled to discuss results, refine treatment, or make onward referrals. With your consent, we write to your NHS GP so your record stays joined-up.
Where your case needs a different specialist, Dr Fahim refers to a panel of trusted clinicians across London — matched to your specific need. We don’t take commission or referral fees from any external provider.
The clinic is recognised by major UK private medical insurers including Bupa, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, Cigna and WPA. Pre-authorisation is usually required. For self-pay patients, fees are confirmed before any test, procedure or report is started. Full pricing is on our price list.
