Ahmet did his specialist training at Bülent Ecevit University and Istanbul University-Cerrahpaša — both leading Turkish medical schools with established programmes in diagnostic imaging. He is a senior sonographer with substantial experience in diagnostic ultrasound across the major imaging indications. At MHW Clinic he runs the ultrasound service, which covers the most common ultrasound requests in private practice: abdominal scans (liver, gallbladder, kidneys), pelvic scans (gynaecological and male pelvis), vascular scans (carotid, leg veins), thyroid and lymph node assessment, and musculoskeletal scans of the soft tissues and joints.
All scans are reported on the day, with written findings included in the patient’s records.
Ahmet is a member of the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and works to the standards expected of UK private ultrasound practice. He is not a clinical consultant and does not diagnose pathology; scans suggesting findings of concern are routed to the appropriate clinician for clinical correlation and management.

Pelvic ultrasound
Female pelvis (transabdominal and transvaginal where indicated and consented), male pelvis, bladder assessment. For gynaecological concerns, pelvic pain, suspected fibroids, ovarian assessment.
Vascular ultrasound
Carotid Doppler for stroke-risk assessment, leg vein Doppler for suspected DVT or varicose veins, arterial assessment of peripheral vascular disease. Useful in the cardiovascular screening pathway.
Thyroid & neck
Thyroid nodule assessment, thyroid size and structure, neck lump assessment, lymph node evaluation. Often combined with TFTs and clinical consultation with our GP team.
Musculoskeletal ultrasound
Shoulder, knee, ankle, elbow soft tissue assessment. Useful for tendon and ligament injuries, joint effusion, suspected bursitis. Imaging guidance for steroid injection in selected cases.

What to expect.
Standard appointment
Most consultations are 30–45 minutes for an initial assessment, shorter for follow-ups. You’ll be seen in a single appointment, with bloods, ECG or other tests (if needed) usually done on the same visit.
Follow-up
Results from on-site tests are typically back within 24–48 hours via TDL (our laboratory partner). Follow-up consultations are scheduled to discuss results, refine treatment, or make onward referrals. With your consent, we write to your NHS GP so your record stays joined-up.
